In 2007, Australia's most recognised landmark celebrated its 75th anniversary. The Sydney Harbour Bridge was officially opened on 19 March 1932. It is considered the world's greatest steel arch bridge and reaches 134 metres above mean sea level.
The bridge contains 52,800 tonnes of steel in the arch and approach spans. This commemorative $1 coin depicts the moment in 1930, whe the two halves of the arch were joined.
