Celebrating Australian ingenuity and innovation, the 2026 Bright Ideas $1 Uncirculated Collection highlights five clever inventions developed by Australians that have made an impact both at home and around the world.
Each set includes a collection folder together with a tube containing five 2026 $1 uncirculated coins, with each coin dedicated to a different Australian invention:
- Stump Jump Plough – Richard Smith, 1876
- Jaffle Maker – Dr Ernest Smithers, 1949, later reimagined by Breville in 1974
- Black Box Flight Recorder – Dr David Warren, 1953
- Safe-n-Sound Baby Safety Capsule – Bill Bowtell, Bob Heath and Colin Nagel
- High-Speed WLAN Technology – developed by CSIRO in the 1990s
Look Out for the Coloured Chase Coin
Adding an element of chance to the collection, 1 in every 10 tubes contains a special coloured edition of the Black Box Flight Recorder $1 coin in place of the standard version.
Six Coins to Complete the Collection
The included folder features spaces for all five $1 coins plus a sixth coin – the 2026 Bright Ideas $2 till coin. This special $2 coin is only available by finding it in change at participating newsXpress stores and is not included with this set.
With a maximum mintage of just 35,000, the 2026 Bright Ideas collection is a fun celebration of Australian creativity and some of the ideas that have helped shape everyday life around the world.

Refund policy
Shipping
We will endeavour to dispatch orders as soon as possible, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery within Australia and 4-6 weeks overseas.
We requires full payment with order, plus all shipping/postage charges before we dispatch any goods.
All shipping/postage (including insurance) costs are subject to change without notice.
*Shipping charges for Australia is a flat fee of $9.95, except EQL launches, heavy items such as coin rolls, books, accessories and large quantities of coins and banknotes which will be charged at current Australia Post charges. We will advise you of these costs before shipping.
EQL Launches/New Releases. The regular Flat fee ($9.95) does not apply to EQL Launches. Shipping charges for EQL new releases will differ and this rate will be advised at the time of entry.
Free Shipping: On orders $350.00 and over made in one transaction for delivery within Australia only.
Free Express Upgrade: Domestic Australian orders over the value of $1000 will automatically upgrade to Express Post at no additional expense.
Overseas shipping charges as follows; orders up to 1kg;
- New Zealand - $25.00
- South Pacific - $30.00
- Asia - $35.00
- North & South America - $40.00
- Europe - $45.00
International orders over 1 kilogram, please contact us for shipping and insurance charges.
Returns/Refund/Cancellations
Any missing item, return or refund request must be put by email to sales@wynyardcoins.com.au within no more than seven (7) days of receipt.
Damaged Faulty. Wynyard Coin Centre will attempt to exchange (if available) or provide a refund for any items delivered damaged, faulty or unsatisfactory when returned in original, undamaged condition with all product components as supplied within seven (7) days of receipt.
Change of Mind. Cancelled items/orders for customer change of mind will be refunded less postage charges, merchant fees (PayPal 2.6%, VISA/Mastercard, Shop Pay, Apple Pay & Google Pay 1.6% + $0.30 or current equivalent rates) associated with accepting the original payment, and a 20% restocking fee to cover reasonable administrative and handling costs.
Prior to Dispatch: Requests to cancel an order must be made within seven (7) days of purchase.
After Dispatch / Delivery: Change of mind return requests must be made within seven (7) days of receipt. Approved returns must be received by us within fourteen (14) days of approval.
Items must be returned in original condition with all packaging and components as supplied.
