2015 Longest Reigning Monarch 1oz Silver Intaglio

On the 9th September 2015 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) will pass an historic milestone becoming the longest reigning monarch in British history. Queen Elizabeth II is Britain's 40th monarch since William the Conqueror was crowned in 1066. Her coronation took place on 2 June 1953 more than a year after the death of her father King George VI. She will bypass the previous record set by her great great grand mother Queen Victoria
Celebrating this historic event The Perth Mint has struck 1oz 99.9% pure silver which depicts an incused version of the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of QEII surround by a pattern of Tudor roses. This coin has a unique intaglio style finish on both sides an artistic technique where an image is created by cutting carving or engraving into the surface.
