THE ONLY UNDATED AUSTRALIAN COIN ISSUED
On 1st January 1901, the six British colonies in Australia came together in a Federation and the Commonwealth of Australia was born. To commemorate the centenary in 2001 of this significant event, The Perth Mint struck a bi-metal 99.99% pure gold seven pointed star shaped centre piece symbolising each of the six states and the seventh point representing the territories.
The 99.9% pure silver $20 portrays the floral emblems for each state; Queensland - Cooktown Orchid, NSW - Waratah, Victoria - Pink Heath, Tasmania - Blue Gum, South Australia - Sturts Desert Pea, Western Australia - Kangaroo Paw and Northern Territory - Desert Rose.
This superb design is presented in the original stunning jarrah timber case with certificate of authenticity. The metal value alone is $755.00
