The Royal Australian Mint commemorates the Last Post – a bugle call occupying a significant place in Australia’s military and commemorative traditions – with this 2026 coloured $2 coin release.
Originally used to signal the end of a soldier’s day, the Last Post is now an integral part of military funerals and remembrance services. Familiar to generations of Australians through Anzac Day and Remembrance Day ceremonies, its distinctive notes provide a poignant moment to contemplate the courage and sacrifice of those who have served.
The 2026 $2 coin design depicts a bugler sounding the Last Post before a war memorial at sundown. Musical staves and bars radiate outward like sound waves, while their arrangement is reminiscent of the setting sun. Musical rests incorporated into the design symbolise the silence that follows the Last Post and its enduring association with those who have gone to their final rest.
Dusky oranges and deep purples feature prominently in the central colour print, evoking the hues of twilight and complementing the solemn theme of the coin.
This Premium Mint Roll contains 2026 The Last Post $2 coloured coins presented in official Royal Australian Mint-branded wrapping, complete with a holographic security seal – an attractive format for collectors of Australia’s popular coloured circulating $2 coins.
The Last Post release follows the Royal Australian Mint’s Dawn Service program released in April 2026, with both programs recognising remembrance traditions deeply ingrained within the Australian consciousness.

- While these individual coins are uncirculated and sourced directly from mint rolls, most will show imperfections and discolouration due to the minting and rolling process.

Shipping
We will endeavour to dispatch orders as soon as possible, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery within Australia and 4-6 weeks overseas.
We requires full payment with order, plus all shipping/postage charges before we dispatch any goods.
All shipping/postage (including insurance) costs are subject to change without notice.
*Shipping charges for Australia is a flat fee of $9.95, except EQL launches, heavy items such as coin rolls, books, accessories and large quantities of coins and banknotes which will be charged at current Australia Post charges. We will advise you of these costs before shipping.
EQL Launches/New Releases. The regular Flat fee ($9.95) does not apply to EQL Launches. Shipping charges for EQL new releases will differ and this rate will be advised at the time of entry.
Free Shipping: On orders $350.00 and over made in one transaction for delivery within Australia only.
Free Express Upgrade: Domestic Australian orders over the value of $1000 will automatically upgrade to Express Post at no additional expense.
Overseas shipping charges as follows; orders up to 1kg;

Returns/Refund/Cancellations
Any missing item, return or refund request must be put by email to sales@wynyardcoins.com.au within no more than seven (7) days of receipt.
Damaged Faulty. Wynyard Coin Centre will attempt to exchange (if available) or provide a refund for any items delivered damaged, faulty or unsatisfactory when returned in original, undamaged condition with all product components as supplied within seven (7) days of receipt.
Change of Mind. Cancelled items/orders for customer change of mind will be refunded less postage charges, merchant fees (PayPal 2.6%, VISA/Mastercard, Shop Pay, Apple Pay & Google Pay 1.6% + $0.30 or current equivalent rates) associated with accepting the original payment, and a 20% restocking fee to cover reasonable administrative and handling costs.
Prior to Dispatch: Requests to cancel an order must be made within seven (7) days of purchase.
After Dispatch / Delivery: Change of mind return requests must be made within seven (7) days of receipt. Approved returns must be received by us within fourteen (14) days of approval.
Items must be returned in original condition with all packaging and components as supplied.
