$1 2019 Centenary of the Great Air Race - 8 Coin Set with Tin
In 1919 the Australian Government announced a £10,000 prize for the first Australians to fly from England to Australia in less than 30 days, in a British-built plane. The competition promoted Australian aviation after the First World War.
Six Australian and one French crew took up the challenge, flying timber and fabric planes. Critics protested that the race could become deadly. Tragically, two crews lost their lives. Two more crashed out of the race. Along the route, the brave crews faced dramatic dangers including volcanoes, storms, equipment failures and unfriendly locals.
The winning achievement by the Vickers Vimy team, led by Sir Ross Smith, was considered a remarkable achievement for the time and the greatest conquest over the air.
The excitement, drama and tragedy of the Great Air Race is commemorated in this set of 8 stunning 2019 $1 uncirculated coins, packaged in a collectible tin.

We will endeavour to dispatch orders as soon as possible, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery within Australia and 4-6 weeks overseas.
We requires full payment with order, plus all shipping/postage charges before we dispatch any goods.
All shipping/postage (including insurance) costs are subject to change without notice.
*Shipping charges for Australia is a flat fee of $9.95, except EQL launches, heavy items such as coin rolls, books, accessories and large quantities of coins and banknotes which will be charged at current Australia Post charges. We will advise you of these costs before shipping.
EQL Launches/New Releases. The regular Flat fee ($9.95) does not apply to EQL Launches. Shipping charges for EQL new releases will differ and this rate will be advised at the time of entry.
Free Shipping: On orders $350.00 and over made in one transaction for delivery within Australia only.
Free Express Upgrade: Domestic Australian orders over the value of $1000 will automatically upgrade to Express Post at no additional expense.

Returns/Refund/Cancellations
Wynyard Coin Centre will attempt to exchange (if available) or provide a refund for any items delivered damaged or unsatisfactory when returned in original, undamaged condition with all product components as supplied within 14 days of receipt.
Cancelled items/orders for customer change of mind or return without major problem (in original condition) will be refunded less postage charges and any merchant fees (PayPal 2.6%, VISA/Mastercard, Shop Pay, Apple Pay & Google Pay 1.6% + $0.30) associated with accepting the original payment within 28 days of purchase.
