$5 2002 K601 Battle of Sunda Strait - HMAS Perth Al-Bronze UNC
This bimetallic uncirculated $5 coin was struck to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the World War II, naval Battle of Sunda Strait.
The reverse depicts the original bell from the USS Houston. The bell carries the date of 1930 - the year in which the ship was commissioned. Prior to the commencement of World War II, this bell was replaced due to a crack. It is now part of an exhibit in the University of Houston. The bell on the Houston when she was sunk now caps a monument in the city of Houston, erected in 1995 to the memory of the cruiser and her crew. This bell was raised from the wreck in 1973 and presented to the US Ambassador to Indonesia, who accepted it on behalf of the American people.
The coin was distributed, encapsulated, on a credit card style presentation card. Two different covers for the card were distributed - one featuring USS Houston and the other, HMAS Perth. Mint records indicate that mintages were 25,100 and 30,481 respectively.

*Shipping charges for Australia is a flat fee of $9.95, except EQL launches, heavy items such as coin rolls, books, accessories and large quantities of coins and banknotes which will be charged at current Australia Post charges. We will advise you of these costs before shipping.
EQL Launches/New Releases. The regular Flat fee ($9.95) does not apply to EQL Launches. Shipping charges for EQL new releases will differ and this rate will be advised at the time of entry.
Free Shipping: On orders $350.00 and over made in one transaction for delivery within Australia only.
Free Express Upgrade: Domestic Australian orders over the value of $1000 will automatically upgrade to Express Post at no additional expense.

Returns/Refund/Cancellations
Any missing item, return or refund request must be put by email to sales@wynyardcoins.com.au within no more than seven (7) days of receipt.
Damaged Faulty. Wynyard Coin Centre will attempt to exchange (if available) or provide a refund for any items delivered damaged, faulty or unsatisfactory when returned in original, undamaged condition with all product components as supplied within seven (7) days of receipt.
Change of Mind. Cancelled items/orders for customer change of mind will be refunded less postage charges, merchant fees (PayPal 2.6%, VISA/Mastercard, Shop Pay, Apple Pay & Google Pay 1.6% + $0.30 or current equivalent rates) associated with accepting the original payment, and a 20% restocking fee to cover reasonable administrative and handling costs.
Prior to Dispatch: Requests to cancel an order must be made within seven (7) days of purchase.
After Dispatch / Delivery: Change of mind return requests must be made within seven (7) days of receipt. Approved returns must be received by us within fourteen (14) days of approval.
Items must be returned in original condition with all packaging and components as supplied.
